Hello:

Does anyone out there know of some good information on creating/using datastores? I'm somewhat comfortable with datawindows. I understand the concepts, and I know that the functions are the same as in datawindows. I'm working on a scheduler application...I built a datawindow into a table that we store stat holidays and inservices. What I want to do is...when a user saves a holiday...I want to check the date they put in against the current schedule. If there are appointments on that day, I want to set their status to unavailable. So..I was told that retrieving the schedule info into a datastore would be a way to go...that's as far as I have gone.

Hope you can point me in the right direction!

Regards,

Alex

I'm not sure I understand what you are looking for. If you understand datawindows there is basically no difference in your approach. The main thing is programatically creating the datastore, assigning the appropriate DWO, and then setting the transaction object. From there on it's the same as referencing a datawindow.
