HI all,

anybody faced this problem earlier ?

Dos based appication is being used on win98se installed computer. The printer installed is network printer.
(Win98se Shared printer. Epson LX1070). When printing is given it is not printing immediately( I know it takes some time). It takes 2 to 3 minutes to start print one single page printout !!! [surprise] Any Idea what is going wrong ?

Any extra settings are needed ?

Printer Cable, network cable, Hub all checked and are ok.

Computers are Celeron 1GHz and above.

reply asap. Thanks.

Is it always a single page printout? Does the dos app include a page throw in its printfile (do you know)? Been awhile, but I have seen dos based prints 'sitting' until either another print is sent to same printer or someone presses page feed on the printer, because the dos print doesn't include a page throw.

Wolluf,

Yes it has page throw.

The dos app can be my client's counter bill program or it can be premitive Wordstar 7. :) Problem is same with all.
(Dos is used only because of it's fast printing speed on DOT matrix)

Regarding what you say

" but I have seen dos based prints 'sitting' until either another print is sent to same printer or someone presses page feed on the printer "

I think it has to do with buffer of printer. Once it is fully filled it starts printing. I have also faced this problem many times in past years.
