I have one user (out of 2,000+) who is having an issue with opening WordXP documents. Documents will randomly open in various screen zooms such as 41% or 92% instead of 100%.

The components of ths issue: W2K on the PC with Office XP. Documents are retrieved from a Document Management System (iManage) and use a macro/template utility called MacPac.

We are investigating the other elements, but because no other user is reporting this, I want to focus on this being a Word issue and was hoping to find a config setting that would force docs to open at 100%.

We have verified that normal.dot and all startup templates have the view set to 100%. The problem happens in spurts and sometimes exiting and relaunching Word fixes it for the remainder of that session.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Documents open up in the view that they were last saved in. You can force a particular view by using an AutoOpen macro with a view zoom command. However, when you say this is random, is this random for different documents or the same document? Say you open a document, switch it to PageWidth setting, save and close the docuemnt and then reopen it almost immediately, does it stay in PageWidth view?
