Hey guys,

Whenever one of our users opens Word2003 it automatically looks for files on his A:\.
The user runs WinXP SP2, Office was deployed via SMS.
He is the only user getting this (happens to be a manager).
I have deleted his normal.dot but still no joy.

Silly question but have you looked at
Tools-Options-File Locatiosn
to see if any are set to A:\

First thing I checked dude.

What I actually did just now to resolve; Insert a stiffy. Started word, it couldn't find the file it was looking for, clicked yes to delete the reference and

Have you got a document listed in the MRU file cache that is located on A drive? If so, temporarily set the file cache to zero or delete the file cache with tweakUI or similar utility and then restrat Word.
