Few days ago we upgraded one PC to a new system with XP Home.. and installed a new Office Pro 2003. That unit frequently opens a .doc file across a network from the 2nd HDD on a Win98 SE unit. The operator then does a "Save As" usinhg a unique filename.
However, since the upgrade it comes up with a message stating that the file cannot be saved as the location is either not available, there is a password on the file, or it contains invalid symbols.
It wont even allow you to move up into the parent folder.
However, you CAN save it in any other folder on the source HDD other than the one you opened it in.
The sharing on the 98 system is FULL and there is no password..
I tried mapping the folder but that hasn't changed anything..
Is there a known problem with resaving files from XP to 98 SE??
Got me tossed..
"We do not stop playing because we are old, more likely we grow old because we stop playing...
