Word Won't Launch

A user has Windows 2000 sp2 and patched current, Office 2000 patched current. Everything was working ok until a couple of days ago, the user tried to open Word and nothing happened. The even log is clean. MS Office was uninstalled and reinstalled. An installation repair was conducted on Office. Normal.dot file was delete (in the event of curruption). Still can't get it to work. Viruses were checked for, none. Any other thoughts?

Rename the following folder in the registry:

hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\9.0\word

Rename the word folder to OldWord.
