Hi,

Whenever I save a word file the file gets saved twice. Can anyone verify why this is happening and how to correct?

Thanks in advance,
Zoey

Would you kindly explain? Does it get saved once and then get saved again? Or, does it save in one folder then another? Or, does it save as one file name then another filename?

When I do a File/SaveAs and I save a file for example to a desktop the file gets saved twice. In otherwords, if I save a file called Test1 to the desktop there will be 2 Test1 files.

Thanks for any help.

Hi!

Are the file extensions the same on both files? Have you checked the properties of both the files? Is one of them a tmp or a bak extension and the other regular doc extension?

Also check to see if there is any weird files in the startup for Word.

xlhelp is right, right-click the 2 files, you will see the extension is different.
If it is BAK, turn off your backup files option in Word.
If it is TMP, and Word is closed, it is not closing properly.
Same for .~xx If the solution is here, let us know it was helpful so others can benefit from it as too
