Hi

I have a user that is intermittently getting problems when opening word documents

She is accessing word documents on a shared area and some docs will open fine and others will be recovered via words recovery utility

When a file is recovered it is losing the documents formatting and displays the file name with (recovered) appended to the end of the file name

Her colleagues are opening the same documents with the same version of MS office ok and do not get the recovery utility trying to recover the file

So far I have asked the user to try a known good workstation and she still gets the recovery problems so perhaps its somehow related to her profile?

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get rid of the recovery on the documents or troubleshoot the issue?

Regards

Jamie

Have you cleared all abandoned files in

1. Recovery location indicated under Tools, options, File Locations?

and ALL files in:

2. Documents and Settings, Username, Local Settings, Temp folder? (You may need to reboot to clear ALL of them)

Hi

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried removing all files under Tools, options, File Locations and Local Settings, Temp folder

I asked user to try again but she still recieved the recovering file screen

Im not sure why she gets this no matter where she logs on and her colleagues don't, perhaps its a profile or setting issue

I would be grateful if anyone has any other ideas

Cheers

Jamie
