my normal.doc must be damaged. When I go to number or bullet lines, it errors and restarts. Even if I use #1 and press return, the auto number makes it freeze and restart.

also does it when I email.

But, I have two ID's and it only does it on the main id.

How do I fix this?

Thanks for your help.

I'm presuming you mean normal.dot - a template.
It's generally located in c:\windows\application data\microsoft\templates
Delete normal.dot. If you have problems deleting it or this doesn't work, let me know. You may have to delete more than one version of it. Doing a search using Windows Explorer should find all of them. If you have problems finding it, you need to adjust your settings to show All files.

if I delete them all, will I still be able to use word? how do I get a normal.dot back?

It will be recreated at the default level [no custom entries] when Word is restarted. Once in a while it takes 2 restarts.

ok, I deleted them all but it still does it. :)

Any suggestions?

I restarted too, still does it. Any other suggestions?! I am willing to try it all! :)
