I have recently been having trouble when using "MS-Word 2000" on my "Dell C500/600 Series Notebook".
SYMPTOM:
When trying to perform ANY operation (edit, save, access menubar etc...) on a document which is networked, MS-WORD stalls leaving my entire PC in-operable for about 3-5 minutes.
I have absolutely NO trouble accessing these same word documents on other PC's and therefore can rule out the possibility of it being related to specific '.doc' files.
The only thing I can think did it was that I recently tried enabling 'Offline' access to certain folders / files on our network, where I found that this is when the problems started occuring...hence, I reversed ALL my actions as best I could turning off ALL syncronisations.
WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR - AND IT STILL STALLS!!!:
* Performed a "Detect & Repair" on Microsoft Word / Office
* Deleted "Normal.dot"
* Successfully emptied All ~temp folders
* Turned off / disabled ALL offline folder & syncronisation features
If anyone can determine anything I may have overlooked I would be GREATLY appreciative!
