Please can somebody come to my rescue!
At the office I have a server (2gb dual processer, 2gb ram, 150gb free hdd space) that is configured as a terminal server running in application mode. On the server I have loaded MS Office suite. I am experiencing long delay times (upto 5 minutes) when trying to open certain Word documents. This occurrs even when I am logged on locally to the server (i.e. not through a terminal server session). The documents are stored on a seperate partition on the server.
I think I have narrowed the problem down to this:-
the documents that are taking a long time to open are documents that contain links to a borland database on the server. If I create a new document on the server without any links, save & close the document then reopen, it opens immediately as expected. Excel documents that conatin links also open immediately!
I have cleared the setting in Word (as advised in a previous tek-tips post) under options / general to "automatically update links on open" however this has not resolved the issue.
Can anyone please offer any advice on this problem!
