Sure.
The categories come up as big buttons in the user interface. You click on one to see all the clips in that category.
Alternatively, if you want to search WITHIN a category, you use the name of the category as one of the keywords.
I don't think, however, that you can specifically force it to search only within one category, tho, if that's what you're asking.
While I have 97 installed, the clipart gets updated when you install higher versions, so I can't do a comparison for you. Sorry.
