I get an error when I try to save a word document to a mapped network share.
The server is win2k server
the workstation is win2k pro
login script maps H: to \\server\homeshare
homeshare is shared with everyone:full share permissions but allows only one concurrent connection.
homeshare has ntfs permissions of "domain admins":full, user:change.
when I try to save a word document to H: I get
"Word Cannot Complete the Save Due to a File Permission Error".
The problem does not occur on WinNT Workstation.
I have tried q171406 "How to disable the use of UNC"
This happens from all version of word from 6.0 to XP pro.
lots of tmp files remain with no permissions set and no owner.
I can recreate this problem in a lab environment.
I can get around the problem by resetting permissions with the xcacls.exe command line unility but if I use windows explorer the problem comes back.
