Hi,

I have used the control toolbox menu to create various tick boxes on a word document. After creating these tick boxes I have turned the design mode off, so that they are active and can be checked or unchecked. The only problem is that everytime you open the document, the tick boxes are no longer active and you have to go in and turn design mode off.

Does anyone know how to stop this?

Yup.

Open Word normally. Tools-Options, Security tab. Choose Medium macro security. When you open the doc, you'll be asked if you want to enable macros, say yes. No more design mode.

But I think your real problem is that you used the control toolbox to create form fields instead of using the forms toolbar. Go check out the info I have on creating forms using the forms toolbar (no VBA required), and if you have any questions, come on back and let me know. :)

Click on "fill-in forms"
