When inserting Auto numbering (Page X of Y) or trying to insert just the number of pages in the footer mode, , upon closing and reopening the document the number of pages reverts back to 1 (i.e., Page 10 of 1). I have tried to figure a way to edit the Auto Text but to no avail. Any ideas?

Tools-Options-Save tab, remove allow fast saves.
Tools-Options-Print tab, remove allow background printing.
Once you've used these, hitting print preview should update the fields for you UNLESS you've got the update fields option turned OFF under Tools-Options-Print tab.
In existing documents, it takes a little more, like you may have to literally click on the fields and hit the F9 key to update the fields.
I know this sounds wishy-washy, but it is quite wierd when you test this.
