Word 2000 on Windows 98

A document created new by a co-worker is ok when saved. When it is opened again, the document now contains information not in the original document. A sampling of the inserted information:

Part One
Authors Name
Normal.Dot
Authors Name
Microsoft Word 9.0
Part One
.
.
.
AuthorsName2C:\My Documents\AutoRevovery save of document1.asd
Authors Name!C:\MyDocuments\filename.doc
.
.

and on and on.

When I open the document on my computer, the document is fine. Any ideas?

Sure.

Go to their computer.
Don't let them watch you. LOL
Open Word.
Hit File-Open.
Change the files of type to Word Documents instead of "recover text..."
Open any document.
Close the document.
Close Word.
Tell them you have magically fixed it.

Dreamboat,
Thanks for the help, that worked perfectly. I thought it was something simple like that, just couldn't put my finger on it.
A star for your time.
