Word 2007: I want to see the results of the field codes

Page {PAGE} of {NUMPAGES}: That is the way my header looks; I want it to look like: Page 2 of 9.

Yes, I know how to toggle field codes. I don't want to have to do that. I want the "default" to be the results of the codes.

I am using print layout view in Microsoft Word 2007.

open the TEMPLATE that your document is based on (this may be Normal.dot).

Toggle field codes off.

Save the template.
