WORD 2003 TAKES TOO LONG TO LOAD

I am running Word 2003 under XP Professional 2002 Svc Pack 1 on a Dell Pentium 4, 2.66 GHz with 512MB RAM.

I have noticed that Word takes a lot longer to load than Excel, Powerpoint or Office (these last 3 apps load almost instantaneouly but Word takes bewteen 30 to 60 seconds to load). Any thoughts as to why this might be happening? Could handwriting/speech recognition options be slowing it down?
