Unwanted and unpredicatble horizontal lines (as in underlining) appear from nowhere and without the "U" underline function being used. The "Help" on the subject (as usual) is quite UN-helpful.

I have disabled Spelling and Grammer checks, as that seemed to be related and appeared to have an effect, but I still get them.

Any ideas anyone?

To get rid of lines, check [borders and shading} under [Format]. Checking [none] usually gets rid of them.

I've no idea why they are appearing. But check if there is anything unusual set for [Options] or [AutoCorrect Options] under [Tools]
