I am having this weird problem with MS word 2002 running on a windows 2000 server. The user is logging into the server via Remote desktop connection and using word through this. The server is clean - no viruses of any sort, I have a nightly live update done and absolutely no viruses were found.

Heres whats happening in word- the user is typing or formatting a very large document and all of a sudden automatically the following characters start appearing

n, b , / , -

These are the only characters that word inserts on its own in the table of contents or in the text itself and sometimes occassionally it will keep clicking on the File menu or even minimize the document automatically. I was looking into the spelling and grammer menu to see if there was something wrong with speech recognition etc but everything is turned off and looked normal to me. When I was in the spelling and grammer menu word shifts tabs automatically when I hadnt even clicked on it and picks options, unchecks boxes on its own.

Logically thinking the characters probably stand for:

n - stands for new line
b - for line break
but its spooky and I am running out of options here.

Can someone please shed some light on this situation here?

Thanks

Kavita

Check the logs to make sure there wasn't more than one user logged into the same server

This used to be the story of the well endowed woman, with spectacles and a 15" monitor, and every time she leaned forward, her bosom would press a number of keys ... it has actually happened
