My company uses Word 2002 with XP pro OS. Frequently after minimizing Word and then maximizing there is an image of either the desktop background or another application on the Word screen. The only way to clear this is to close Word and reopen. This happens on Dell GX1, GX150 and Dell latitude laptops. We have tried changing video drivers to no avail.

in that case that should be enough as long as you aint running 20 programs at the same time
other than that I would do as XLhelp says and find the latest video driver and see if that helps
one last thing if the program/s isnt installed locally and you are running it through a network off of another machine maybe its a problem with the network / network drivers
