Word 2000 on Win ME leaks resources

When opening and closing Word 2000 (sorry don't have exact version) the resources drop and are not released. I searched the microsoft website and found no patch, or even mention of this problem. Is there a patch or workaround available. Thanks

I have already done the things you suggested. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this. Any other suggestions.
