Word 2000 - Missing Tools on menu (Not toolbar) 2

I have a user that's missing the Tools item on the menu at the top. If I uninstall office and reinstall it still isn't there. But if I go to the run line and type winword.exe /a it comes back.....till I close word and reopen it...then poof, gone again

Any suggestions?

Have you tried deleting Normal.dot?

I thought of that, but when I do a search for normal.dot on any of my pcs sitting here with Office 2K no normal.dot is found...did they stop using it on this version?

i have office 2K and i found normal.dot at
C:\Documents and Settings\sdraper\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dot

That was it, odd, when doing a search it didn't turn up, but rowsing to it...there it was...odd. But yeah I deleted it and my menus came back as a new normal.dot was created. Thanks Sdraper!
