Word 2000 - An error occurred while loading 'ThisDocument'

I have just upgraded to Office 2000 from O97.

When I open some Word documents, i get the following error message...Title: Microsoft Visual Basic...message: An error occurred while loading 'ThisDocument'. Do you want to continue loading this project...Yes No Help

With some of these documents i can respond 'No' and the document opens ok and I can save the file as RTF, then resave as Word format. This gets rid of the problem.

However, some documents will open when i click 'No', but I am unable to change the format - Save As does not respond.

Has anyone seen this before? Is it an O97 O2000 conversion problem?
