Good Morning, how do you set-up auto-text in Word 2007?

How do you insert file pathways (paths) to the footer of a word 2007 document?

Thank you for your time.

Hi Rosalyn, these commands are both on the Insert ribbon. Then click on QuickParts in the Text grouping. For AutoText click on Building Blocks organizer. To insert a field (the file path for instance, I think that's what you mean) you also click on QuickParts and then Fields. Not so intuitive, these particular commands if you ask me. QuickParts? I mean...who would know what THAT means. Personally, it makes me think of Jiffy Lube.

Hmm. I think if you want to insert a new AutoText entry, you have to add the toolbar button to your Quick Access tool bar. (It's called AutoText and can be found under All Commands and also Commands Not on Ribbon.) I don't see any way in the building blocks organizer to add a new autotext entry. Unless I missed it. You can edit existing entries and insert from there however.
