Soundblaster sound card

No matter what i do the system will not power on with the sound card installed. Tried another card and I get the same thing.

Power supply is a 350 watt heavy duty model.

I don't know what to try ... any suggestions..

thanks...

[tt]Hi Zoldy, does your motherboard come with the optional on board sound chip? If yes, try disabling it in the BIOS first before you plug in the sound card.
Do you have any other cards plugged in?(other than the video graphics array card, of course) If yes, you can also try taking them out first before plugging in the sound card.

thank you for the reply. there is no onboard sound and although there are other cards. I have tried removing them and it makes no difference.

thanks

Put the sound card in another PCI slot.
If it does the same thing, it's most likely an IRQ conflict. Go into the BIOS and change some of the IRQ's around.
