Hello everyone. I am having a little bit of difficulty with a hard drive of mine. My PC won't boot from it. I tried installing Windows XP and the format goes just fine, no errors. It copies the install files to my hard drive fine. When it reboots though, it will not begin the install again. My mobo says the hard drive is not bootable. I ran BartPE (version of Windows you can make that runs right off a cd ;-) sweet) and looked at the hard drive, and could read and write to the hard drive fine. Yes, the hard drive is first in the boot order. I have also tried changing IDE channels and switching it from master to slave. Tried fixboot, and fixmbr. Is there any reason a mobo would stop booting from hard drives? Is there any way a hard drive would stop booting, even though it is freshly formatted? Thank you! - Pickletech
