I have BE 9 on two w2k servers. With out the remote license can I backup data on the other server1 that has BE 9 on it from server2? I am running out of space on server1 tape.

Yes you can, But the backup will take longuer because the backup wil be taken over TCP/IP instead of having the agent compresse the data for the lan traffic. you will also not be able to take the system states!
