I need to get a friend who knows very little about PC's to fit a wireles card to their PC so they can connect to their router which is in another room. I want to make this easy so i'm looking at USB wireless cards, the problem is that i've not used one before only PCI ones are they any good?

I don't want to tell them to get one if they're generaly poor any recommendations?

This is the sort of one i had in mind.

Cheers.

I've got Linksys usb wireless adapters (other models) all over the place, no problems. Kinda weak on range, but operate fine.

I talked my mom through installing one... [medal]

I use the Netgear USB Wireless adapter and it works fine. It also has a positionable USB extension cord. so you can point it in any direction, to get better reception.

But the cable is kind of hard so it keeps the position.

I personally will never buy another D-Link product. They screwed me badly once.
