I have a friend who just recieved a loptop computer with a wireless internet connection. I am not too familiar with wirelss so I will ask the experts. She wants to us a non wireless modem with a wireless router. Will that work? I have a feeling it won't.
Also, I apologize if this is not the proper place for this post but this is where I go the most and there's no place like home.
Thanks,
Steven

Does your friend have a broadband internet connection? Such as DSL or Cable?

If the answer is yes then I will assume that by modem you mean a cable or DSL modem.

And by wireless internet connection you mean the laptop has a wireless network card?

The modem should then be connected to the wireless router. Then configure the wireless network card to connect to the wireless router.

And there you go. It is just about that easy. Now that is going on some assumptions. So if you could provide more details then we could help you out further.
