I have a Buffalo AirStation G54 router connected to an NTL cable modem. Wireless is enabled. My computer connects ok, then after a few minutes (time varies) it loses connection to the network (says it cannot find network). However my laptop stays connected without any problems and shows signal strenght @ 54Mbps and the broadband is still active. Have tried several network cards (inc USB) and this always happens. It seems to be a XP problem but i'm stumped as to what.

All drivers are latest versions. Tried a different router as well and still happens.

Help, as always, greatly appreciated.

If it annoys Microsoft then it's worth doing, and doing well!!

Make sure that you have the latest USB drivers on your desktop PC (I believe those with Win XP SP2 are the latest). Have you any other USB devices connected?

You don't say which USB Wireless NICs that you have tested but was one of them a Buffalo?

Make sure that all your wireless firmware is up to date.

I had the same problem, and running the Wireless Network Wizard solved the problem. One system was losing the connection after 10 minutes, while an identical system was fine.
