Hi to all,

Hope you can help. I am building a new system which includes Asus P5K MoBo, E6600 Processor, X1950 Graphics card, 650W PSU, 2Gb Ram.

Xp Pro has installed fine, until I got to the D-Link G520 Wireless Lan Card. I have taken this out of my previous system and although it's a poor card, it worked okay. Following the instructions on setup I first installed the software and then the card itself. When I rebooted the "found Ethernet Card" box came on and then the system froze. having repeated the installation and various alternatives of setup, I keep getting to the same stage that as the file A3AB.sys is installed the system freezes.

Is there anyway anyone can think of to help out.

Most grateful for any responses.

Cheers

Artois

1. have you done a MEMTEST yet? if not do so, use MEMTEST86+ for example... this will let you know that the RAM is GOOD...

2.) have you tried the latest drivers... make sure that you get the correct HardWare Version...

Thanks for your reply BadBigBen,

having scoured the net, I have found that this problem is fairly common with D-Link drivers. I have given up and bought a Netgear card instead.

oh well... have fun with the Netgear...

I know that DLink tends to drop support real quick, and that Dlink card is fairly old these days...
