i have two different wireless access points and they are from the same company, i can't get them to see each other.

i have gone through the manuals and done all they have instructed but still no luck. any idea if it works this way or not.

i am connecting one of the access points into my hub and i can see my network, but when i want to go through the first access point, to the second access point which is connected to my lan, it doesn't work. seems like there is no communication between the access points.

i want the two access point to talk to each other, can this be done

Maybe you should specify what make/model of access point you have. Also what is your ultimate goal here?

hmmm... from the same manufacturer with the same product no.? wireless devices won't talk to aliens-all the connected devices must come from the same manufacturer... is it? [ ... Kindness in words creates confidence, kindness in thinking creates profoundness ... ]

I assuming you configured a Primary and Secondary Access point whereas the secondary is hitting the primarys MAC? I have done this two ways bridged between two LANs as well as an Access Point client. Are you using the same SSID?

access points don't talk to each other in normal mode (except behind the scenes). You need to set up a bridge (wlap mode) for one AP to froward stuff to the other

Currently, I have two wireless access points talking to each other without configuring as a bridge. Apparently the software running the hardware is different in each of our cases. One scenario I have this successfully working without configuring as a bridge is a Linksys BEFWS114 and a WAP54A. One thing to note that in order for this setup to work I had to configure the channels the same which will limit the roaming to some extent unless the service, card or signal is stopped and then reinitialized in which it will pick up the closest AP.
