Winzip installation

I have Windows Server 2003 with citrix Metaframe XP FR2

I wanted to install winip but got a message that there are known problems with this software on citrix terminal servers. Does anyone had or have problems with winzip on citrix servers? Which version? What do i have to look out for?

I hope you can share something with me.

I have winzip installed on our Win2k server with Citrix installed. Winzip version is 8.0.

I don't have Winzip installed on our new 2k3 server because Windows 2003 has a native compression and uncompression application built into it.

Thanks for answering. I think the warning i got is especially something from windows 2003.

So hope someone with windows 2003 can share his experience with this.

If you are on W2003 server, then it has compression built in. You can create and manage Zip file directly in Explorer. I've found no real need to use WinZip on my 2003 Citrix servers.

ZipCentral works on Win2K3 if you don't want to open zip files and view contents rather than save them.

It works fine in a Citrix environment too.

We looked into it and it looks like people are happy enough with the zip capabilities of windows 2003 onboard.
