WinXP wont ask for update from SUS Server

Hey!
I have deployed SUS SP1 server.
I have many XP Sp1 machines which are loading the SUS updates great!
however, I have a few XPs that in the windows update.log
wont ask for any update (not even Windows Update) for over a month! - also before the deployment of the SUS!
what can I do!?

Have you checked that you have automatic updates enabled?
Right click my computer, then click properties, select the automatic update tab. Comfirm you have auto u pdate selected.

of course it does.
I use GPO to enforce it.
besides, I opened the Registry to the key
hklm->software->microsoft->policies->windows->windows update and i saw the right keys.
