I have to computers. One (A) has a printer connected by USB, the other (B) is setup to print on that shared printer. In the printer settings of the machines, (A) says "PRINTER" and (B) says "PRINTER ON A" even though I've set the print name to be "PRINTER" not "PRINTER ON A". I have software running on both systems that reads a variable set in the software that tells it where to print. That variable says "PRINTER". I can use this software to print on computer (A) because it prints to "PRINTER". I cannot print in this software on (B) because it prints to the unrecognized "PRINTER ON A" How infuriating.

Anybody out there with any ideas better than the ones I've had. Most of mine have revolved around a 15 lb. sledgehammer and 5 min. alone with Bill Gates.[evil]
