So I my PC has been upgraded to XP, but it was done as a complete re-install, so I had to install all new applications. The reading I've been doing leads me to believe that I shouldn't install my copy of 5 and do the upgrades. Is there a way to go directly to v8 without buying a new copy?

Not unless you buy it. I have not had a problem installing older versions on XP and going through the patch upgrades. Just don't use it before you finish the upgrades - just install your old version and run the upgrades first all the way up to R9. Then try using it.

thanks much Tom! I'm just wary of having 'old' software corrupt my xp installation, so I wanted to ask someone else before I did it.

Have a great day!

Well, none of the "FREE" upgrades will corrupt your XP installation.

It came corrupted from microsoft (LOL!)

You should have no issues with SPM.

mm---aint' that the truth!!!! :-)
