Winsock - > in PHP!! Pls Help

Hi all,

i had a .asp page which used to communicate via winsock for e-commerce purposes! Now we had to change servers to linux and there php had to be used! is there a way to communicate as if i was communicating via winsock! any examples would be much appreciated since i'm quite new to php...but love it!

i havent done any sock programming but there is a fsock() function in PHP try:
