Hi all.
Ok, i have a win2k server as a DC. DHCP is setup and working sweet. DNS is setup and also working sweet. Wins is setup and works fine ONLY if i leave my cable modem (usb) switched of. Otherwise it takes the ip address from the modem. If it has the modems IP address, what i do is release the modems address. close the WINS mmc snap ip then re-open it and hey presto, it shows the correct server address.
I have set the servers NIC to be static IP,DNS and WINS.
DHCP is configured to update DNS.
It's starting to bug me as i've read a few books and looked on the web but nothing really gives me any clues on why this happens. Any ideas???
(Sorry its a long post but i thought i may aswell get in there before i'm asked)
