Hi,
I've got an old NT4 domain and a new 2003 Active Directory domain, they run on different subnets and are connected via RRAS (PC with 2 NIC's).
I've installed backup exec on the new domain and in order to get backup exec to use it's remote agents (Doesn't work with user defined shares) I need to be able to select servers on the old NT4 network via network places.
Obviously as the domains are on different subnets I can't rely on netbios. I've configured WINS on a DC in the new network and tried to get it to replicate with the old WINS server. It errors with...
THE CONNECTION WAS ABORTED BY THE REMOTE WINS. REMOTE WINS MAY NOT BE CONFIGURED TO REPLICATE WITH THE SERVER.
I've configured each as replication partners for the other, so I'm guessing it's a permissions problem and I don't see how to get the old WINS servers domain account permissions for the new one.
Any help would be appreciated.
