Hi,
I just upgraded my nt4.0 PDC to a win2k DC. I still have 5 nt4.0 BDC's on my network.
WINS on the win2k DC is not functioning correctly. I have verified that the BDC's are push/pull partners. I have enabled WINS logging to see if I can get a clue what is going on.
I am getting an "information" notice, in Event Viewer.
"Event ID 4121"
WINS's Replicator could not find any records in the WINS database. This means there are no active or tombstone records in the database. It could be that the records being requested by a remote WINS server have either been released or do not exist.
I have about 1/2 my clients showing up in Network Neighborhood and the other 1/2 aren't. I can locate them when I do a search for them. Some of my servers are registering all the clients, some only 1/2.
Anyone have a clue what is going on here? When I do a search in the WINS snap in, active registrations, I can find all the machines that are missing in Network Neighborhood.
Helppppppppppppppppp!
Sharyn
