Winproj.exe-application error

whenever i start up Microsoft Project 2000 and open up a file, everything work fine. I then save the documentation, and close out Project. This is where the odd problem start, if I open up Project2000 and open that same document from the history, the error prompt me:
Winproj.exe-Application Error
the instruction at "0x783ad8e5" reference memory at "0x00000000". the memory could not be "read"
click ok to terminate or cancel to debug......

But if I open up the same document in any other way the application run without error. I update the windows project to sp1. Update windows 2k to sp3, I even reinstall, Uninstall and Reinstall fresh. The error still there. And only one user have that problem, for the time being i give him the workaround. Please help because this problem really bug the heck out of me.

I am not in any luck, because our company uses Mcaffee 5. And I try uninstall Mcaffee and still have the problem. Anymore idea, greatly appreciated.
