I have a windows 2000 server with a raid 1.
I have a question about the partions, I have 2 33 gig disk
but the prim c disk is only formated with 4 gigs of the 33 and the rest is unformated.
can the rest of the drive be formated or does it have to stay that way for the raid?

when setting it up it asked how big do you want your Partition to be and it had a default of 4gigs is this right or could we have chose to use the full 33 gigs for drive c? Frank

Frank,

Is the raid controller onboard or is it a seperate plugin card? Also who is the manufacturer. It may be that you problem stems right back to whether or not fdisk allowed LBA or not, however to give you an idea It is possible to have larger partitions.

As CSUKNic if its hareware raid then it depends on the specs of the hardware.
If it is software raid then there is no reason why not so long as you have not used that space on the other disk. i.e. both disks have to have the space available. However if you have already set you space up it may be easier to created a second partition rather than trying to resize the existing one.
