I reclone dozens of windows machines each week and have had some annoying win xp pro errors over the last few years. The network is a windows wrkstn to novell srvr setup. After logging into the Netware server a windows user prompt comes up and the user just has to click OK or hit Enter to continue.
In lab environments this Windows user account is setup as a limited account. Before recloning I log in as this user and setup the interface as needed. Then I logout and back in as an admin account and restrict the limited users from changing the appearance of Windows. After making sure everything is working I setup and broadcast out the image.
Many times this works fine, but occasionally after windows comes back up after the relone XP has created a new folder in "Documents and Settings" called user.001 and all the changes I had put in place are now gone. The worst instance was after recloning 36 machines at the same time; about half the lab came up as I had set them up and the other half created the new folder and erased my changes.
Any help to resolve another one of Microsoft's annoying "features" would be greatly appreciated.
