Here's what I have:
Duron 600 overclocked to 850 (worked fine for over a year, and three months with XP)
A-Bit motherboard???
Nvidia GeoForce 2 MX
512 MB RAM
8 gig HD (boot)
10 gig HD (slave)
DVD ROM
Soundblaster generic
Realtek Ethernet Card
Here's what I changed:
I got an E-machines Celery 800 in lieu of payment, but it had no ram. So I took out one 256 meg SIMM/DIMM (sorry) from my Duron and put it in. It worked fine.
I tightened a loose screw on the Soundcard of my Duron, plugged in a USB Mouse and USB Keyboard it wasn't using before, and turned it on.
After getting to the Windows XP loading screen, it rebooted. Safe mode (and Command Prompt) does the same thing.
I took off the USB devices. Still rebooted. Took out the soundcard. Still rebooted. Unplugged the second Hard Drive. Still rebooted. I put the RAM back in. Still rebooted.
I'm sure this is a hardware issue of some kind. The Duron has been using its current monitor (that I got with the Celeron) for two days so far, no problem.
I can't get it to boot to get into the Control Panel and keep it from booting on any failure. I have a backup Windows XP system (that I'm on now).
Please help guys.
