Whenever I try to open Windows explorer, it gives me the following error:
Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience
and it gives me options to Send Error Report or Dont Send.

Basically, any folder list I try to explore gives me the same error (Eg: My Computer or any folder that I have on the desktop)

Any pointers are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds as though you have a corrupt profile. I would try logging in as someone else even a test user and see if the same happens. If it does then do a system check and a defrag also have you installed any drivers latley. One good thing about Xp is the ability to revert back to a system check point. If you can remember when this started great just go to PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-SYSTEM RESTORE from there follow the instructions and click on a date on the calender which will be in bold. Make sure you click on a date which is before you started having problems. This will restore your system but don't worry it won't delete any of your files even the ones you have created after the restore date.

Good Luck.
