I have a PC with windows XP pro purchased last year. It has had blue screen a couple of times. The user couldn't recall what she was doing that causes the blue screen. Whe blue screen on, it has nothing, no any information, or messages.

What should I do? What areas do I need to check first? What the solution may be? Anyone has the XP blue screen experience, please help. Thanks a lot.

Likely all of us know the Bluse Screen of Death, but usually there is a message.

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer. See if any details are recorded there.

As a bald guess it is either a problem with the RAM, or you need a new video adapter.

To test RAM:

Thank you for your help. I have looked Event Viewer. The EventID is: 1002 and the source is: "Application Hang". Any ideas?

Which Application is hanging and are the times of this message corresponding to any blue screen?

"The indicated program stopped responding. The message contains details on which program and module stopped responding. A matching event with EventID 1001 might also appear in the event log. This matching event displays information about the specific error that occurred."

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
