There are 4 computers connected (wired) to a wireless cable router all work online except for one computer. I get an IP address on it I can see the other 3 computers on the network but I cant get online. I connected my laptop to the same patch cable and I was able to get online with it. I already changed the lan card, I connected a wireless usb connector but I cant get online. Any ideas?

what are the results when you go to a command prompt and ping a public site, such as yahoo?

you know I have not tried that I will try that tomorrow. And let you know.

sounds like a windows network settings problem...

maybe you need to reconfigure the internet/lan settings on that computer...

Ok I did ping yahoo.com in command prompt. And I was not able to get a response. And again I tried ipconfig and did get an ip I did ipconfig /release and then renew and still unable to ping. This is baffling because I can view and share files with other computers in the network but I cant get online which is cable internet going into the router that allows me to see the network. I cant even log into the router. I tried to punch the ip address for the router and nothing. What is going on??

bcastner Thanks for that advise I was about to post that I fixed the problem using winsockfix. Thanks for all your replies and help.
