I have a pc at home that is running WIndows XP Media Edition. About a month ago I began getting an error message and have been reading through a lot of web pages and forums and have not found an answer that will stop it from popping up. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. This is the error: Windows - No Disk

Hmmm... this seems to be a relatively fresh issue that seems to be popping up, as most sites I have seen with information concerning this issue have been recorded in the last couple of months. I haven't seen anything that has narrowed it down to one particular issue yet, but the most common issues seem to be a USB card reader, external drives, Norton, and Quicktime. The most useful information I have seen was found here: There were several solutions to the issue, but none were too consistent to narrow the issue to one particular problem. I would go through there and see if anything pertains to what you are experiencing. Do you have a process named "dit.exe" running?

Another simple fix I have seen on a couple of sites was to remove recently accessed programs and documents from the Start menu as described here.

Also, have you tried doing a System Restore to a date before this error starting popping up to see if that will cure it?

I have tried that with no resolve there. I will check out the links that you provided hopefully there will be something that can get rid of it. Thanks.

Was doing a little poking around on my home system last night and ound something peculiar in the msconfig window under startup. It was an .exe that I had never seen. Part of the file pointed it as a cloaker and I ran it through a site called processlibrary.com and got nothing from it. So I googled it and got a bunch of hits pointing it out as a trojan. Ran HIJACKTHIS and fixed it and the error pop up is now gone. Now have new issues but have checked tham out yet so I'll get back to you on it. Thanks for all the help.
