I'm 99% sure there's a way to do this, because I think I've done it before. But now I can neither figure it out nor find how to do it somewhere on the net.

I want to set my PC up so that when it locks (either manually or automatically), the CTRL ALT DEL isn't required, I can just type in my password.

Can anyone please tell me how to set this up? Windows XP...

Assumptions: You have to go into windows and tell it to not require ctrl-alt-del for login. This is under the user accounts, Advanced tab. If you are the only one who uses the computer you can set it to automatically login as a default user and then just enter the password.

Then you can set your screensaver so that it requires a password when it exits - that does not require ctrl-alt-del to be pressed if the ctrl-alt-del option is disabled in user accounts, and it's also a good way to get it to lock without touching anything, because SS has a timer.

Hopefully something in there helps

That is exactly what I wanted. I know I'd seen it somewhere before but couldn't find it now that I wanted to change it. Thank you very much.
